FAMILY STAYCATION: Crosswinds Resort Suites Tagaytay

It's May already but still not decided on where to spend the rest of the summer? Are you looking for a place that's not too crowded, where you can have that peace and quiet that you wanted? Not a beach person or do you simply want to escape the scorching heat of the sun?

If yes, I have a great suggestion for you. Why not have a family staycation?

Last year, as part of my daughter's 2nd birthday celebration, we booked a room (via Dealgrocer) in Crosswinds Resort Suites in Tagaytay City. Upon entering the village's gated entrance, we were in awe as my family didn't expect such a beautiful place. The photos on their website didn't lie, in fact, the place is incredibly magnificent.

The Grand Quartier 2, where our room is located, is quite far from the gate. If you have a car, you will definitely enjoy the trails going to the hotel. And I got scared (just a little, though) because the road's too curvy for me and high.

At the hotel desk, we were advised to wait for 30mins since we are early. Can't remember the check-in time and there's not enough space as the lobby's small and there are other guests waiting also. We have no choice but to stay outside. I was kind of pissed but since the place was far and it was sort of a celebration for us (thus the reason why we're here), we just shrugged it off and talked about funny things while standing outside the hotel entrance.

Manong guard offered us to stay at the dining hall, just across the street, of where our hotel is located, while our room is being fixed. Though it's just few minutes before check-in, we obliged. It's nice of him to offer.
And at last, it's time! We filled out few forms and the receptionist then handed us the keycard to our studio room.

This beautiful bed, nice kitchen area and cozy veranda welcomed us. Crosswind Resort allows guests to bring in food or even let them cook (pots and pans are placed inside the kitchen cabinet). Tip: bring dishwashing liquid and sponge if you plan to cook as these are not provided to us at the time of stay.

As for me, I cooked an early dinner for the fambam. However, make sure not to cook food that have strong odor as it's not easy to remove the smell from the  sheets and room. Hehe!
The three of us spent the night giggling and watching movies while munching on popcorn that we bought in the grocery store before heading to the hotel. It was popcorn party for us :)

In the morning, we were served these plated dish plus 2 glasses of orange juice. They also offered 2 cups of coffee, bread and fruits.
After breakfast, we then explored the village. There's this bus (not working) and great spots good for photo op :)

After few minutes, we went to the pool area. It was a perfect day for a swim because it was Tuesday and the pool area's closed during Mondays (general cleaning), that means, we're the first one to use the pool after it was cleaned.

Brought my daughter's yellow float and she enjoyed every minute spent in the water. She also giggled when she saw lots of pine trees swaying whenever the wind blew at it's direction.

All in all, it was a great overnight stay for us.
