HOTELQUICKLY: Your Last-Minute Hotel Booking App

When Hubby and I got married few years back, that's the time that we're able to really enjoy each other's company (because we are not allowed to go wherever we please as we have strict parents). Traveling to other parts of the country was our way to make up for not having a decent honeymoon. hehe! We're always looking for a reason to travel and plan it way in advance.

But today, it's different, now that we have Miel, our daughter.

We haven't really traveled far in the first 2 years of being first-time parents.  We settled on staycations here and there, so that we can bring the baby with us without the hassle of bringing the whole house (you know what I mean mommies). Another reason is that Hubby took on a new offer from another company and being on that new position, meant less time for us plus unpredictable work schedule.

Good thing that there is a new app available for that last-minute hotel booking - Hotel Quickly.

HotelQuickly officially launched its operations in the Philippines last March 6, 2015 at A Space Manila.

During the event, Raphael Cohen, company's CSO / Co-founder, explained to us what and how to use the app.

HQ is the first and largest mobile-only travel app. It is available for IOS, Android and BB users. All you need to do is to download it here.  After downloading, you have the option to sign up using FB or email address [links to their Terms&Conditions and Privacy Policy are also displayed].
Once done, you'll be prompted to choose which country you like to book a room to. They currently have 15 countries listed.

When you choose Philippines, it will give you a list of major cities and provinces that are most visited: Baguio, Batangas, Bohol, Boracay, Cebu, Davao, Mactan Island, Metro Manila, Puerto Princesa and Tagaytay.

For example, if I were to choose Boracay, it will give me the top 10 hand-picked hotel deals in the island.

Let's say, I want to stay in The District Boracay, check in date is Mar 12, check out will be March 13. Based on the screenshot above, the deal is less 32% vs hotel's published rate.

Take Note: the hotel price above excl. taxes and service charge.

At the page before the payment, total price showing is 197.85usd (taxes and service charge included). I convert it to peso to compare it to the published rates showing on the website of the hotel.

It's pretty promising and somewhat true to its word about the 32% discount. Cool!

You know, the sad thing about booking a hotel at the last minute is that it's more pricey compared to the rate if you book it in advance. So, yey for Hotel Quickly! =)

Another great thing about HQ, is that they accept major credit or debit cards. And you can have your card automatically deleted from the application after your booking is completed. All you need to do is to tick on the box [as shown above].

The downsides, though, in using this app are:

1. You can't choose what room you'll be getting (although you have the option to request for an upgrade directly with the hotel but you'll need to pay extra).
2. Bookings are non-refundable. HotelQuickly pays the hotel immediately after booking. (I think this is understandable since it is a last-minute deal).

If you want to give it a try, feel free to download the app and use the promo code DCRIS8 to avail 15usd  credit.
