14 December 2015. Pampanga Bloggers were invited to the Grand Opening of Gerry’s Plus in Balibago, Pampanga.

Why Gerry’s Plus?
The restaurant expanded its food items on the menu to delight more guests and has introduced two brand concepts namely: YAKITORI BINCHOTAN and RAMEN SORA, all three brands under one roof.

#PRT2015 : Pampanga Restaurant Tour 2015

When my family transferred to Pampanga few months back because of Hubby’s work, I thought that I could no longer attend events. I was wrong. Few weeks ago, I met an awesome group of bloggers who share the same passion and mission... to create an active group of Pampanga Bloggers and to promote Pampanga Tourism.

It all started when I made friends with bloggers Marrien and Theresa online and attended a couple of events in Pampanga. Then we met Chef Will and eventually Ms Aileen. And the rest is history *wink*.

Eyes Wide Open

Checked the clock, it is 12:52am. And I am still awake. I dunno why. There are a lot of things and ideas running through my mind. I can’t sleep.

Is it the caffeine intake?

Could be.

Craving for a bit of Italian? The first thing that comes to mind is a big heaping bowl of pasta, covered with your favorite sauce and sprinkled with lots of Parmesan cheese. It is a dish that everyone loves to eat often, that pasta has become a kitchen pantry staple. Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta brings a taste of Italy to the Filipino home with its line of Italian artisanal pasta noodles, made of 100% durum wheat semolina.

Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta is produced according to the tradition of true Italian pasta. There is actually an Italian law that prescribes that pasta must be made using 100% durum wheat semolina, which is the hardest of all the wheat varieties and has the highest protein content. It is the use of durum wheat that makes pasta “al dente” or “firm to the bite.” Doña Elena Al Dente Pasta is also made using traditional bronze dies, which gives the noodles ridges, which helps the sauce cling to the noodles more, for a richer flavor. Plus, Doña Elena uses all natural GMO-free ingredients in its pasta, which makes it really good for you!

BIF’s Smoke and Grill, Angeles City, Pampanga

Last week, I received an invitation to review a restaurant in Pampanga. When my family moved in the north, I thought that I would no longer have an opportunity to attend events as often as I used to when I was in the metro. I was wrong. That’s why I’m ecstatic about this event and of course, meeting new blogger friends.

5 Reasons Why I Fell In Love with Love Desserts

Last Saturday, my family, and 3 blogger friends were invited to try out Love Desserts buffet in Banawe, QC (thank you, Ms K for the invite). Our family arrived few minutes before 10 AM and the place is still closed, which is acceptable since the meet-up time given was 10:30 AM (we just don’t want to be late and avoided the traffic).

While waiting, I noticed that the desserts were being transferred from a red van to the store. Those tasty cupcakes and mouth-watering sweets were inside the clean food containers. I found out later on from one of the staff named Kuya Ronald that the owner, Ms Jenny has a separate place where the sweets were being made by her trusted employees. I was amazed.

When the “open” signage was posted, we went inside and I knew the moment I stepped in that this store will have a special place in my heart...

Here are 5 Reasons why I fell in love with Love Desserts

Found Gustav's Cafe in OpenSnap!

Before the actual birthday of my daughter, I, as an OC mom (hehe), had everything planned out. From her dress to the restaurant that our family and close friends will be gathering to eat lunch. But due to inevitable circumstance, all that I planned did not push through. All’s left is a few hours to eat dinner on the day of her birthday.

Even before she was born, I already have the birthday themes in my mind and this year, it’s supposed to be “Hello Kitty goes French”. Since we just moved in the suburbs, I am not familiar with what the place has to offer. Good thing there’s OpenSnap app.

PLDT and Microsoft launches Digital Campus Suite

One of the things I look forward to in the coming years is my daughter’s first day in a big school. As a mom, I know that I will be meticulous in choosing which school I will enroll my daughter to. Why? Because the school will take a big role in shaping the future of my daughter.

Good thing that as early as now, PLDT, the leading telecoms and multimedia service provider, and global IT giant Microsoft Philippines, launched a new service package called the Digital Campus Suite.

A Day At The Mind Museum

Last week, a dear friend of mine generously provided 3 complimentary tickets to my family to visit The Mind Museum. Am a bit shy but of course, I accepted it. Hehe! (Thank you! You know who are and my family is very grateful for it).

We did not wait long, we immediately scheduled the visit and here’s what happened.

SkyCable's Color Explosion

Remember the first SkyCable event I attended with my baby? Well... Mom and Miel’s back J and this time, we were with Dad. All of us went to the SkyCable’s Color Explosion event held at Rockwell tent last last weekend.

Tuesday, August 18, 2015

Blogging has always been therapeutic to me. In attending events, it’s like a wonderful opportunity for me (and my family, if organizers are letting the participants bring their respective families) whenever I want to go out of my usual routine. On my blog, I can share information like in food – where and what to eat in a certain area or place. In travel – share our own experience which could help others decide on whether they want to try it too or simply have the feel of what it looks like to be on that place that we’ve been to. In parenting – document all that I can about the milestone of my baby and to reach parents who might benefit from it (tips and all).

Bottomline is: Blogging is all about sharing. That is why I support all events that help out bloggers like me connect to co-bloggers and be part of something big (like connecting to sponsors). Speaking of big, I have great news to all of you.

There’s a big convention happening this September 2 & 3 (Wednesday and Thursday), and will be held at the SMX Convention Center in Mall of Asia.

Mommies, did you ever had that experience of unexplainable pain on the lower abdomen when you are about to get your menstrual period? If lucky(hehe), you will even have some sort of acne break out that leave you in a terrible state for days. Did you cancel an important meeting or failed to show up on your son or daughter’s recital because you were not feeling well (some of the women I know can’t even stand when they experience such pain)? Or people around you say you have PMS when you suddenly feel grumpy?

Academy of Pastry and Bakery Arts Philippines

08.05.2015 Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to be part of the Grand Opening of the region's top pastry school - the Academy of Pastry and Bakery Arts Philippines. World-renowned pastry chef Jean Louis Arnaud and a group of acclaimed international chefs led the ribbon-cutting and press conference in Makati City.

It was a fine Sunday morning. My baby and I went on another adventure (now for two consecutive weekends. We’re getting the hang of it. Hehe!). We were invited (thanks to Mommy Bloggers Ph for the invite) to another fun-filled day and this time, it is in FunRanch, courtesy of Rebisco.

STYLE SATURDAY: Meet The Accessorist

There are a lot of things to be grateful for. Even though there are times that you feel like everything's not going the way you planned it to be. Enough with this senti mode. Hehe! Like what I've said in my previous post, June's a very eventful month. Need to leave it all behind me.

But before I do so, let me share with you this. One of the things that I am thankful for that month is the moment I receive this beauty, delivered straight to my doorstep. Wanna know what it is? Come, take a peek :)

PreSchool At The Fort

One of the exciting yet tedious parts of being a parent is to choose which preschool your baby will enroll to. Me, I have this habit of attending trial classes to make sure (and compare) that all of the things on my list [yes, I do have a list. Hehe] are met and to also learn a thing or two in teaching my own kid while I informally homeschooling her.

Last Saturday, my Baby Miel and I attended a trial class in the Fort. This invite [Thank you, Mommy May of] actually excites me because according to their website, teachers are well-educated and have impressive credentials. I, personally, think that kids will be in good hands.

As a mom and a blogger, I do appreciate events that promote family day and childcare. Good thing, Baby and Family Expo Philippines, now on its 3rd year, will hold a consumer tradeshow for us. Please read through to know how you can be part of this exciting event this September!

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

It’s been a while since I last attended a blogger’s event. Living in the suburbs has its perks and disadvantages as well. Sad to say, one of the disadvantages is that I am far from the usual venues of the events that I want to attend. But when I had the opportunity to be part of the SkyCable/SkyLife’s Playback Rewind, I did not pass on the chance. Too bad, Hubby needed to go to work that day. So, it’s a Mommy and Baby weekend fun, instead.

Hello! Today on the blog, I will be sharing my very first entry under the “Toddler Tuesday” portion. Since Honey’s Haven evolved from personal to food & travel and now parenting & lifestyle blog, I guess it’s about time that I post about caring for your toddler (since I have one and would like to document every milestone of Miel as well).

The first topic that I would like to share is how I potty-trained my daughter in less than a week. Yes, you read it right! Curious? Keep reading, dear :)

MUNCH MONDAY: Champas Mexican Grill, SM City Clark

One of the things I like about Pampanga is their food. Though I haven’t really gone through all of the food establishments that offer authentic Kapampangan dishes (but I am planning this in the near future), visiting nearby karinderia and malls are worth the time already. And when Hubby celebrated his birthday last May, we did not go far as we had brunch - Mexican style. Where? Keep reading, dear...

Saturday, July 11, 2015

Why, hello there? It’s been a month since I last visited (and posted on) the site. Please pardon my absence. I have been meaning to blog in the past weeks but unable to because of a lot of reasons. Let's just say that the previous month's eventful. hehe!

Speaking of event(ful), well, my daughter attended CWS this morning and let me share her (first) #OOTD on the blog.

SPA REVIEW: Juicy Nails By K2C + Giveaway!

Every girl deserves to be pampered once in a while. Some, would go to high-end spas where they would enjoy premium services but are not easy on the budget. Others would simply be contented with spas that offer services at a cheaper price but do not really give you the utmost experience that you truly long for, hence the reason for visiting the spa in the first place.

Do you want to go to a place wherein you will receive excellent service without worrying too much about your budget? Fret no more. There's a new spa in the metro that offers both (great service + affordable price), that is in  Juicy Nails by K2C.

GROUP GETAWAY: Azalea Residences, Baguio City

As I mentioned in my previous postme, together with 23 other bloggers, were invited for a fun-filled weekend in Baguio City. One of the things that I looked forward to on that group getaway was the stay in Azalea Residences.

Azalea Residences Baguio City is a holiday haven at the heart of the City of Pines, which exudes comfort and exclusivity. Come and take a peek!

Monday, May 18, 2015

Baguio. I haven't set foot on this place for a long time. And when I received an invite to be part of the group of bloggers who will stay for 3 days and 2 nights in Azalea Residences Baguio, I didn't pass on the chance.

Azalea Residences Baguio is the first all-suite vacation residence in Baguio City. It has 99 well-appointed suite rooms and 2 food & beverage outlets: the bar called 8 Degrees Lounge and the flagship restaurant Tradisyon.

TRAVEL THURSDAY: Marina Bay Sands Hotel

Singapore. It was just a dream vacation before but now it came true. What's even awesome is that we're able to stay at a bonggacious hotel (thank you so much to those people who made it possible. You know who you are). Best travel so far :)

Ever wonder what it feels like to step inside that tall building with a boat-like structure on top of it? If you haven't been to this place, come, take a peek as I share with you our first vacation abroad as a family.

SLOW SUNDAY: The Other Side of Mother's Day

Mother. Being a mother  is one of the best things that ever happened to me. After my baby was born, every Mother's Day, I receive numerous greetings and it made me feel very, very special.

But it's not always the case. Before the baby's born, that is.

FAMILY STAYCATION: Crosswinds Resort Suites Tagaytay

It's May already but still not decided on where to spend the rest of the summer? Are you looking for a place that's not too crowded, where you can have that peace and quiet that you wanted? Not a beach person or do you simply want to escape the scorching heat of the sun?

If yes, I have a great suggestion for you. Why not have a family staycation?

Cooking for 3: Malunggay Leaves and Corn Soup

When I was young, I always eat what I want, whether it is nutritious or not. It is also obvious that we (hubby and I) love to eat as I compiled some of our eat out(s) here. :) But when I became a mother, everything changed.

STYLE SATURDAY: Bags and Wallets

Bags are women's bestfriend, mine in particular, aside from the shoes, of course. From small shoulder bag to as big as a mini luggage, you will definitely find something inside my closet. Motherhood even gave me more reasons to purchase stylish bags that can also serve as diaper bags.

MUNCH MONDAY: Dinner with Friends at Recipes

03.06.2015 After the HotelQuickly press launch, me and my super friend Dianne of  Memet Diaries went to Greenbelt 5 to meet my Hubby. We are also scheduled to meet-up with our other super friend Jenn, we just had to wait for few minutes more as she'll be coming from the office.

When Jenn arrived and to continue the endless chikas and catching up, we all decided to have an early dinner at Recipes.

HOTELQUICKLY: Your Last-Minute Hotel Booking App

When Hubby and I got married few years back, that's the time that we're able to really enjoy each other's company (because we are not allowed to go wherever we please as we have strict parents). Traveling to other parts of the country was our way to make up for not having a decent honeymoon. hehe! We're always looking for a reason to travel and plan it way in advance.

But today, it's different, now that we have Miel, our daughter.

We haven't really traveled far in the first 2 years of being first-time parents.  We settled on staycations here and there, so that we can bring the baby with us without the hassle of bringing the whole house (you know what I mean mommies). Another reason is that Hubby took on a new offer from another company and being on that new position, meant less time for us plus unpredictable work schedule.

Good thing that there is a new app available for that last-minute hotel booking - Hotel Quickly.

COOKING for 3: Spam Spag in Garlic and Olive Oil

This is the first of the Cooking for 3 series.

Why Cooking for 3?

A lot of us, knows how to cook or not, can search the internet for recipes. Whether it's a simple or complicated dish, the step-by-step and ingredients' just one click away. But if you look closely, most of those are good for 4-6 or even more people. Based on personal experience, I had a hard time adjusting just to suit my family's taste.

Lemon Kiss

My daughter likes to play dress up. She loves to put on dresses that are colorful and/or floral. Sometimes, it takes a whole day of twirling and giggling. I'm not complaining. I'm more amused than irritated.

She'd grown so fast. I sometimes miss the baby she used to be. At age 2 and a half, she already has the concept of what is "beautiful" and what is not [especially on clothes. hehe!].

But as a mother, beautiful is not enough, especially on dresses being used by my baby. It has to be comfortable and light.

That is why I didn't pass on the chance for my little daughter to try Lemon Kiss dress.

Tree Top Adventure Press Conference

Baguio. It is known for its beautiful sceneries and cold weather. Nowadays, it also reminds us of all those hugot lines from the famous movie of Angelica and JM. But is that all Baguio can offer?

Do you want to know the extreme side of the City of Pines?

FAMILY STAYCATION: Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham

Today, I had this opportunity to sort all of the pictures in my laptop because my hubby's on rest day. I came across pictures of our family when we stayed in Microtel Inn in MOA after my daughter's first birthday. Let me share with you what happened during our stay.

Embracing Change: New Life Ahead.

Change. Some say it's inevitable. Me, a very emotional me, gets too attached to people (or things) too much too soon. Now when the time comes that I have to let go of someone or something, it takes a lot of effort before I can say I've moved on...
