Dpop or Digital Pop is the brainchild of Jeoff Solas and Janette Toral, 2 of the big names in the blogging industry.
Before the start of the Summit
Arrived at A.Venue mall at around quarter to one. With me is a good friend of mine, Dianne of Memet Diaries. It took a lot of courage for me to be there since my family's going through a difficult situation right now. To take my mind off of it, even for few hours, I decided to come (and I've been waiting for this event for days now).
The Venue
It's artsy interior and relaxing color made the venue less intimadating, which is perfect for casual talk.
The Speakers
What I learned from the Summit...
About Blogging:
1. Should blog about your passion.
2. Copy-pasting is unethical. Need I say more?
3. Make your blog simple & fun (if applicable).
4. Filter information being shared through social media (for security).
Blogging Etiquette:
1. Be nice to everyone. (to your readers and/or bloggers you meet during events)
2. Share your knowledge and support other bloggers.
3. Respect others & act responsibly.
4. If, by any chance, committed a mistake, own it, learn from it and move on.
Blogging + Business:
1. Hard sell nowadays, is not effective when marketing a brand. It should be 20% business related & 80% relatable.
2. Need to take care of customers because if you don't, your competitors will.
And the best part of attending events...
You meet the bloggers/PR/organizers in person.
Congratulations to Dpop for a successful event.

I agree po :) super helpful cla.
DeleteVery helpful! If there's something I need to learn (or unlearn) with regard to blogging, it has to be filtering information. I can't help but be brutally honest!
ReplyDeleteI know.. Sometimes u can't help it db? Kc, unbiased review dapat. What I learned, is that if there's something wrong about the food, for example, it's better to talk to the mgr about it so they can do better the next time :)
DeleteI love how you itemized your learnings in a very simple way. Hope to be able to attend furure workshops like this.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I don't want to complicate things kc :) hehe!
Delete"2. Copy-pasting is unethical. Need I say more?" Haha! Most are somehow forgetting this especially when posting PRs. Thanks for reminding us! :)

DeleteVery helpful indeed, well, sometimes there are people still copying and we can't prevent it with new softwares for copying even the "right click protected" files ;(
ReplyDeleteSad but true :(
