09.27.2014 The Maya Kitchen, who's known for creating culinary stars since 1964, held a cooking demo of an exceptional chef - Martin Kaspar.
Chef Martin Kaspar is a Swiss national and part owner of L'entrecote Corner Bar & Bistro, located at the Burgos Circle BGC. He also teaches in Alain Ducasse Culinary Institute at Ederun College.
See Chef Martin in action through these photos.
While conducting the demo, he managed to teach his audience about a lot of kitchen techniques. From storing oil the right way (oil is good for use only up to 8 months & store in cabinet to avoid direct light) to checking consistency of the sauce by using the back of a spoon. He even joked about how '80% of chefs are alcoholic' while pouring white wine in the pan :)
After a very joyous cooking demonstration, we, the audience were treated with a delish lunch.
On the table:
Baked Mussels with Cafe de Paris A classic but a bit spiced up (mustard & chili)
Duck Liver on Potato & Caramelized Onions, Calamansi & Berry Glaze rich, smooth, sweet & fruity.. the combination you will surely enjoy.
Marinated Salmon with Lemon Risotto the sweetness of the salmon and the creamy-tangy flavor of the risotto (without cheese) perfect!
After a very sumptuous meal, it's time for some photo op :)
Me with Chef Martin Kaspar (above: formal.. below: wacky?!) haha! :)
