El Pollo Loco a.k.a. The Crazy Chicken

El Pollo Loco, pronounced “L Po-yo Lo-co” and Spanish for “The Crazy Chicken,” is the Philippines' leading quick-service restaurant chain specializing in flame-grilled chicken (the healthiest chicken in town).

We wanted to try their chicken but opted not to in the past because we thought, what if it's not good? But how are we know if we don't try?

Then the next time we went to SM Megamall, we went inside their branch with no hesitation =p

On the table:

We ordered their 4pc Chicken Loco Meal for 290php. This includes: 4pcs of chicken, 2 rice [choice of plain or spanish] and 2 salsa.

Separate order of iced tea which cost 33php regular and 37php large.

It's said that El Pollo Loco uses fresh chicken that are marinated in a special recipe of herbs, spices and citrus juices passed down from the founding family. The marinated chicken is then flame-grilled, hand cut and served hot off the grill with warm tortillas and a wide assortment of side dishes.

If I were to rate it, I'd say that it's okay. There hadn't been any distinct taste that you would want to experience over and over again. But the salsa is a good twist of the usual catsup or gravy chicken dip =p

My 2010 Birthday Wish List

My birthday's fast approaching. I dunno if I'm excited because I will be a year OLDER!! :( So instead of me, thinking about my age, let me just focus on the things that I wanted for that special day... :)

**all photos courtesy of google search

Although I have a couple of things in mind that cannot be bought by money... and if I had a fairy godmother *wink*...  here's a list of my Top 10 Wish for my beeday:

1. a pair of jeans

2. signature bag

3. new shoes or sandals

4. Rebond or DigiPerm?! Hmm... Can't decide :(

5. Whole Day Shopping Spree

6. Magic Sing... I've always wanted to have one but can't squeeze it in in our budget. Need to prioritize: Wants vs Needs... tsk tsk

7. Dine in a fancy garden restaurant with Hubby, of course.

8. Ninong & Ninang: as the saying goes your credit is good but I need CASH :)

9. Trip to Macau

10. My very OWN laptop or notebook will do :) Even when we already have Acer Aspire at home, sometimes, hubby spent too much time playing video games on the same time that I want to, for example, blog or check FB, etc..
I want the red one because it's not too girly like the pink and the purple but not masculine. Red is just right :)

I'm not expecting these things to come true [but doesn't hurt if these will *wink*] but hey, it's free to daydream :)

My Heart's Desire is to bear a child and to say to the whole world that we're not just a couple, we're a Family...

Glam Rock Party 2010 @ World Trade Center

This had been my very first party, organized by the company, that I attended from start to finish... why? (1) I'm your usual KJ when it comes to party (2) I stayed because of the raffle =p

Did you know that they actually gave away 1 high end Nokia cellphone, refrigerator, 32" LCD TV and 2 roundtrip tickets (equivalent to 50k cash)??!!! Sadly, I was not the lucky one who got called... :(

But the company's gracious enough to give each of their employees 300php worth of sodexho gift certs instead of the usual ham... not bad!

The highlight of the party for me is when our big bosses sang while banging their heads... :0 Cool!! :) And of course the trio who did the opening number... Great voices, I should say. Kudos!! :)

But the party turned out to be a bit lame and boring... (in my opinion) There are too many production numbers and loooonnngg performance from same group of people. I'm also not used to verrrrryyy LOUD music and not a fan of rock bands that create weird and/or disturbing music... :(

It's a good thing that we (my other officemate) arrived at the office early... We had the receiving area all to ourselves :) While waiting for the others, we did a quick photo shoot. Here's a glimpse of what had happened before the party :)

Good night everyone :)

Happy Thanksgiving to all Brethen!!!

Before the year ends, members, especially the officers of the Iglesia Ni Cristo gather for 2 weeks' panata in preparation for Thanksgiving. This is one way of thanking our God Almighty  for the blessings and guidance given to us...

We woke up early today and fulfilled our duties inside the Church. The pagsamba was very solemn and you could feel the Holy Spirit that you end up feeling relieved from all worries and harm...

Just came home and ate our lunch :) Our bodies need to rest for a while... We're also looking forward to our Year End Socializing... Maybe we'll drop by our dad's locale for a change... :)

Foodie Series: Tokyo Tokyo & Teriyaki Boy Day

It's been a looooonnng and tiring week for us. With all the changes and new tasks @ work... hay... Hubby and I decided to unwind... How? **just say the magic word** FOOD :)

We got up late so we had brunch @ Tokyo Tokyo branch nearby. Since we are in a "tipid" mode, we settled on ordering sumo meal, which is good for 2.
255php [2 pcs pork tonkatsu, veggies, rice and pork tonkatsu sauce]

It's a good thing that they change it [sauce] back to the old one. Personally, I hate the fuji apple sauce... and I think there's a lot of us who do hate it that they decided to remove it from the menu :)
default order of honey... onion rings for 55php

The thing that I miss about Tokyo Tokyo is the red iced tea. I still remember back in PS wherein I consumed an average of 3 large iced tea per shift.. haha!! red iced tea addict indeed :)

After our brunch, we went to supermarket and bought our 2 weeks grocery. After few hours, we're hungry again :) hubby teased me and said that he does not want to have an anaconda for a baby. Hihi!

We did not look far and settled on the nearest food chain in the exit part of the supermarket. Teriyaki Boy's waiting for us :)
Clockwise: fish 'n chips 185php, yakisoba 155php, buffalo karaage solo 180php

I sooo looovvee buffalo tori karaage... :) this is the first time that we dined in TB and it somehow left a good impression... I even did a mental note and add it to my loooonnngg list of favorite restos/food chains. Our experience contradicts the previous blogs about them.. Some said that they have poor service and not-so-good food. Maybe the location and the time matters because we tried their small branch in the Metro and food were served after few minutes and it was great.

'Til our next food trip :)

After church service last Sunday, we decided to go to Megamall. The last time that we went there was... hmm... last year? haha!! :)

It's easier to go to the mall by train so we went to MRT Magallanes station. The train's jam-packed with people and honey secured me in one corner... :) we passed 5 stations in silence.. sometimes, we just want to enjoy the moment.. to be near each other.. holding hands..
They say that one of the challenges long-term couple experience is boredom or being tired with the company of the partner. I strongly disagree because we are the living proof that regardless of how long you've been with your partner, there shouldn't be any dull moment or boredom.. I didn't say that we don't fight but through the years, we learn how to compromise and admit our mistakes.. Couples should also have to know the art of creating adventure and excitement out of a routine.. :) there's no formula.. you just have to know your partner's likes and dislikes then start from there... :)

In our case, we share passion for food :) So we take every opportunity to eat together and be merry :)

We arrived in MegaMall minutes before 12NN so we decided to look for the place to eat and went inside Mang Inasal... i know what you're thinking... if you really know us and where we live, you will wonder why choose Mang Inasal.. there's a Mang Inasal at the ground floor of where I'm working and there's another one, near our place [Metro].. can't help it.. we just love the chicken of Mang Inasal :)
99php per serving
Krispy KangKong 18php [can't remember]
I was kind of intrigued about this sisig.. Think I saw this kind of gimik in one of the cart businesses featured in Kabuhayang Swak na Swak wherein the food is on top of the softdrink tumbler :)
I'm a bit disappointed because of the serving... it's so konti :(
To put a smile back to my face, honey bought me this manila scramble.. :)
Just the mere sight of this scramble, a lot of childhood memories came flashing back..  When I was in 1st grade, I used to have tantrums over me, not being able to buy scramble from Manong sa may kanto. My dad's so strict about eating street food.. but it didn't stop me from buying.. I even used my cousins as an excuse just to buy one..haha.. sorry dad :)

And speaking of street food, here's another one, from Korea: Deli Pop. This is actually the first time that I tasted this Korean snack.. It caught my attention the moment I passed by their stall. Why?! Because the machine, which they use to make this, creates a really disturbing "POP" sound.. :)

KPOP? that's more like it :) hey, is this the same one that Jandi sell in the streets on one of the episodes of Boys over Flower? When Jun Pyo strutted, I mean, walked towards her and kissed her passionately? Lemme know :)

Whew... after the eating and walking, we went home.. This date really is tiring but fun.. :) One of our Chipipay dates ever :)

Exchange of Vows: The Fernandez-Cristobal Nuptials

04 December 2010: This is the day when 2 people exchanged vows and promised to love each... for life =p

Locale: Makati [formerly known as Palanan]
Reception: Centennial Hall Manila Hotel

ehem... we're not the ones who got married... we already did, 3 years ago... hehehe... :)
here they are... =p

This couple is very dear to me... especially the bride. She's my sister in law, middle child of nanay and tatay. I still remember her 10 years ago, when hubby introduced me to his parents. She was a cute and chubby 15-year-old teenager who played the piano for me =p Although we haven't actually been given the chance to get closer because she's kind of shy and aloof, I still felt the connection somehow and I understood her angst [hehe].

But when she met her "groom", hubby and I noticed the changes in her. She now knows how to smile [a lot] and just enjoy life =p They are so generous that they treated us in MOA [Bowling] and StarCity.. **bonding bonding**
Then here are our pictures @ the church:
The good thing about weddings are the food... us, being a food lover, loves to eat =p

On the table:
All meat, no bun.. hihihi... =p
fruit platter... yum yum... super like :)
...and here are the cookies that "Max" gave us.. thanks :)

After eating a sumptuous meal, we went out for a walk and to also bring some of the "bitbitin" inside the car. Then honey, made me stand in front of the Manila Hotel entrance and took a picture of me one last time before we go home =p

Congratulations To Mr. and Mrs. Artis and Jaycee Fernandez. Have a blessed married life!! =p
